據悉，學生必須在芝加哥大學校園居住至少六個quarters(不包括夏季)，并且必須在居住期間成功完成至少1800個學分。此外，超過一半的要求，任何主要或次要的必須在居住完成。
芝加哥大學學院的課程有三個組成部分:通識教育要求(1500個單元)，專業(900-1900個單元)和選修課(800-1800個單元)。
本科學位至少需要4200學分(42門100學分的課程)。在所有獲得的學分中，至少有3800學分必須通過課程注冊獲得，而不是通過考試獲得。
其中核心要求必須在第一年和第二年完成;第三年可以參加國外的文明研究。
藝術課程：：1 or 2 art, 2 or 3 humanities, and 2 or 3 civilization studies courses must be taken for a total of 6 courses
