紐約大學(xué)應(yīng)用統(tǒng)計(jì)學(xué)碩士區(qū)別于傳統(tǒng)項(xiàng)目，開設(shè)在社會科學(xué)研究生方向，比起理工科，更集合社科性質(zhì)!
據(jù)悉，紐約大學(xué)應(yīng)用統(tǒng)計(jì)碩士開設(shè)在Steinhardt學(xué)院下面，專為社會科學(xué)研究提供的2年制STEM項(xiàng)目。
學(xué)生將學(xué)習(xí)先進(jìn)的定量研究技術(shù)，并將其應(yīng)用于社會，行為和健康科學(xué)的關(guān)鍵政策問題，為應(yīng)用統(tǒng)計(jì)學(xué)家或數(shù)據(jù)科學(xué)家或博士研究的職業(yè)生涯做好準(zhǔn)備。
紐約大學(xué)應(yīng)用統(tǒng)計(jì)學(xué)碩士提供三大研究領(lǐng)域，滿足學(xué)生未來就業(yè)多項(xiàng)選擇。
1)社會影響的數(shù)據(jù)科學(xué)
準(zhǔn)備建立研究與實(shí)踐的伙伴關(guān)系，了解有關(guān)數(shù)據(jù)收集和使用的倫理問題，并有效和簡潔地溝通研究結(jié)果及其含義。這是世界上第一個(gè)專注于使用數(shù)據(jù)為政策和實(shí)踐提供信息的現(xiàn)實(shí)挑戰(zhàn)的學(xué)位課程之一。
2)計(jì)算方法
你將在方法論理論和發(fā)展方面經(jīng)歷更嚴(yán)格的訓(xùn)練，如果你想攻讀統(tǒng)計(jì)學(xué)、經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)或計(jì)算機(jī)科學(xué)的博士學(xué)位，這是特別合適的。
3)一般應(yīng)用統(tǒng)計(jì)
這種集中提供了最大的靈活性，允許您通過選擇廣泛的統(tǒng)計(jì)和相關(guān)課程來定制您的學(xué)習(xí)。你可以從事與你的課程和實(shí)習(xí)經(jīng)歷相一致的工業(yè)、研究和博士項(xiàng)目。
據(jù)悉，以往應(yīng)用統(tǒng)計(jì)畢業(yè)生分別在心理學(xué)、教育、政治學(xué)、公共政策、媒體研究和醫(yī)療保健(國際救援委員會、紐約州總檢察長辦公室、Two Sigma、哈佛教育政策研究中心、維拉司法研究所、警務(wù)公平中心和紐約市學(xué)校研究聯(lián)盟 )。
雖然不會要求前置課程，但是在材料中著名課程背景喜好，具備數(shù)學(xué)、統(tǒng)計(jì)和計(jì)算機(jī)課程基礎(chǔ)的學(xué)生更受歡迎;
此外，在材料上除了需要sop，還需必須回答ASSR Statement的兩個(gè)問題的一個(gè)：

再者，還需要遞交寫作樣本，官網(wǎng)要求如下：
“Please submit an academic writing sample in English (a course paper or its equivalent) that is sole-authored by you, of not more than 40 pages that you feel demonstrates your writing and analytic abilities. The sample does not need to display a knowledge of applied statistics or data science.”
